Bristol Virginia Public Schools comprehensive safety
and security plan includes:

Each school has developed a Crisis and Emergency
Management Plan and School Safety Audits

Uniformed police officers and/or crossing guards to
provide traffic control on campuses where there is
an indicated need

Uniformed police officers to provide security and
law enforcement services at campuses, athletic
events and special after hour events

DARE program is conducted in elementary schools

Video surveillance systems in all schools help
administrators monitor activities and provide record
of events in halls, cafeterias, gyms, parking lots
and other public areas of the campus

Electronic access control systems help provide a
secure environment by limiting access to those
persons with a legitimate need to be in the

applicants for employment
