Hello, my name is Maxine Duff. I have been teaching kindergarten at Washington-Lee Elementary for over 20 years. I was born and raised in Bristol and I am a proud product of the Bristol Virginia School System. I graduated from Virginia Intermont College with a degree in Elementary Education.

I believe all children can learn and succeed and that it is our jobs as educators to make that happen.

Thank you for sharing your child with me!

Class Rules and Expectations

I believe routines and procedures are important to a young child. In a constant and familiar setting they find comfort and security. In order for your child to learn and have the best possible year I feel that our classrooms are important. No child is perfect and they are young, but if they know what is expected out of them from their parents and teachers, they will be more apt to exhibit appropriate behavior and make our classroom a pleasant, safe, happy place to learn.

1. Follow directions the first time they are given

2. Keep hands, feet and objects to yourself

3. Use appropriate manners and language with peers and all adults

4. Show respect for people and property

5. Behave in a manner which allows teachers to teach and others to learn
