Web Quests and Internet Hunts

Web Quests have become a great teaching tool.  What better way to integrate technology?  These Web Quests can be used in labs or in the classroom.  I have also included a link to show you how to write your own Web Quests.  Several of these are my own and others are links to Web Quests written by others. 

History Internet Scavenger Hunts
Character Education
Community Helpers. A kindergarten WebQuest that teaches about community helpers and increases our computer skills. Kindergarten

Ancient Egypt Web Quest.
Locate information on Ancient Egypt! Learn about Ancient Egyptian daily life, Egyptian mummies, Egyptian Hieroglyphics, King Tut (Tutankhamen), Egyptian games, and Archeology.  (SOL History 2.1, Geography 2.4)
2nd Grade
  Let's Journey Back in Time to Ancient Rome! Use a time machine to go back and explore Ancient Rome.  (SOL 3.1) 3rd Grade
Stuck in Mali!  Experience Mali as a time traveler on a secret mission. (SOL History 3.2, Geography 3.8, Economics 3.8, English 3.1, 3.2, 3.10, 3.11) 3rd Grade

VA Focus
.  This is a great Web Quest that meets the VA SOLs.  Students learn the 5 regions of VA and cover many other areas as well.  (SOL VS 3, 4.1, 4.2, 4.6, 4.7, 4.8)
4th Grade


Journey to Colonial Times
.  Students can experience life as a colonial person.  They will each create a tri-fold brochure to share what they learn. (SOL VS 3, 4.1, 4.2, 4.6, 4.7, 4.8)

Water Cycle.  I also wrote this Web Quest.  Students will travel through the water cycle, learning about evaporation, condensation, and precipitation. (SOL Science 3.9)

The Grouchy Ladybug.  This Web Quest uses the Eric Carle book The Grouchy Ladybug and has activities for Character Developing.  Students will learn about feelings and respect. 1st/2nd Grades
  Character Counts.  This Web Quest is a good tool for teaching Citizenship.  One of the 6 Pillars for the Character Counts program. 3rd - 8th Grades
