Classroom Expectations

Student progress is evaluated using projects, written tests, exams, and research or report papers.  Students are often involved in the evaluation process by way of self-critique. Students are expected to do all assignments and turn them in on time.  If a student is absent; the work must be made up in a timely manner, usually within three days of returning to school. All work will be done in class. If a student needs to makeup work and cannot stay after school to use art materials; then a substitute assignment may be given to do at home.  Occasionally students may be asked to bring in items from home such as sketches or photos as ideas for projects.

There are no homework assignments or outside reading to do for this class.

No text is used. Short quizzes may be given to check for understanding of terms and techniques. Students will complete at least one written assignment each six weeks.  A final written exam will be given in seventh and eighth grades only.  Six Weeks grades will be an average of projects and quizzes.  The final grade will be six weeks averages and the exam.  I will review. A review sheet will be given to study for the exam. The exam will count as one-seventh of the total grade.

Sixth grades will be graded on a nine week basis with no exam.

 Supplies:
Students are expected to bring a regular #2 pencil to class each day.  No supplies are required for Art class.  All special materials are provided.
