Poquoson Schools for sharing these great resources for grades 3, 5, 8 and EOC
tests. All tests are made with Hot Potatoes using the SOL released test items.
The 2003 released items tests need Internet Explorer 6.0 to work correctly.

School SOL Pretests This
site provides links to online practice tests in the four core area SOLs for
grades 6, 7 and 8. These interactive tests enable you to receive instant

Lab's Science, Math, and Technology SOL Practice Tests This
site has online tests for grades 3, 5, & 8 math and science, grades 5 and 8 technology,

Portaportal is a freeweb
based bookmarking utility that lets you store links to your favorite websites
online. Now your bookmarks are no longer limited to any one machine. You can
categorize the bookmarks and have students log into your site for easy access to

Connections
Connecting books to the Virginia SOLs.
A database of over one thousand works of
children's literature (K-6) and their connection to the Virginia Standards of
Learning is provided by Fairfax Co. Schools. This is searchable by keyword, SOL
subject area/SOL subcategory, and grade level. There are plans to add books for
grades 7-8 for the 2005-2006 school year.

This is an interactive
proofreading game from Houghton Mifflin for grades 2-8. Each level has a variety
of passages and skills for students to use. Once the editing is complete, a
certificate will come up on the screen that can be printed with the student's
