Bristol Virginia Public Schools Title I Preschool Program
Our high quality Pre-Kindergarten Programs provide a safe and nurturing learning environment that promotes the physical, social, emotional, cognitive and linguistic development of young children. Bristol Virginia Public Schools Title I Program recognizes that each child can learn. All children will, therefore, have every opportunity to reach their potential and to achieve in school. The wide range of diverse strengths, interests, and rates of children's development in every pre-school classroom will be anticipated and welcomed as teachers plan programs to accommodate this diversity. Our strategies are based on how children learn and, therefore, how they must be taught in school. Curriculum in the Pre-Kindergarten program is carefully designed to provide challenging, interesting and age-appropriate learning for students. Our curriculum includes content and skills, strategies for teaching and learning, assessment of learning progress, and a framework for involving family and community members in the learning process.
Children learn all the
time. They construct understanding through
ongoing dynamic interactions with other children and
with adults as they explore ideas and materials in
their environment. Our staff designs learning
environments that support academic achievement.
Ongoing staff development is essential for
effective, high quality curriculum implementation. |
