The first graders stay busy every day learning to read, write, and think mathematically. The students are guided through sight word practice, Saxon Phonics drill, small group reading instruction, independent reading practice, and the enjoyment of quality literature. Math textbooks and reinforcement activities are used in teaching math skills. The students and teachers enjoy time spent on unit studies integrating the science, social studies, and technology Standards of Learning for Virginia Public Schools. |

child in Third Grade next fall.
Your child will need these supplies the first day of school. Paper, pencils, and highlighters need to be replenished throughout the year. Due to limited amounts of homework, having study hall at the end of the day, and the number of books going home, we strongly encourage you to purchase small book bags that will fit in your child's cubby. Thank you for your cooperation. |
