Preschool Reading Curriculum
 
  1. Phonemic awareness:  Basically oral – working on the sounds within words.  Rhymes, beginning sounds students will be able to identify rhyming words.  Being able to break up a word into its component units, or phonemes.
  2. Oral language development (working on vocabulary and language structures)
  3. Book and print awareness.
  4. Listening comprehension.
  5. Letter-naming, number naming.
  6. Writing (scribbling, pretend writing, starting on letters).
